Assistant Professor Erica Millar earned her BSN at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington NC and her MSN in Nurse-Midwifery from the University of Cincinnati, OH. Prior to coming to SON, she taught at the Graduate School of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati. She has held positions of RN in Labor and Delivery at Onslow Memorial Hospital in NC as well as Fairview Southdale Hospital in MN. She has worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife Resident with North Metro Midwives in MN and the St. Elizabeth’s Hospitals in Northern Kentucky. Professor Millar has been the Health Supervisor of Summer Programs at Phantom Ranch Bible Camp since 2004. This is the camp where her Mother worked as an RN in the same position and her kids currently attend every summer.
Since working at the SON, she has taught students many times in Ecuador for their transcultural clinical immersion experiences and also developed and led the transcultural clinical experience in Ireland. She currently teaches Pharmacology and Therapeutic Services, Infant, Child, and Family Care Services, and Business Finance for Healthcare Services.
Professor Millar and her husband live in Maple Grove. She has 2 elementary aged sons and a daughter beginning her senior year in high school. Her oldest daughter is finishing her training this month as a medic in the United States Army and is beginning her sophomore year at Liberty University.
