Garrett Krohn is a versatile freelance hornist, jazz/electric bassist, and educator based in the Twin Cities. He served as acting principal horn of Adrian Symphony, has performed in Michigan Opera Theatre, Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Symphony Orchestra (MI), and Dearborn Symphony Orchestra. As a bassist, he has appeared with Mid Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra, The Reese Project, The Michael Shirtz Quartet, George Waltemire, and Mary McClendon. Garrett is a passionate music educator, teaching in a wide variety of settings. He taught horn at Defiance College, teaches at the Black Swamp Fine Arts School, and maintains a private studio. He holds degrees in Music Education (B.S.), Horn Performance (M.M.), and a doctorate specializing in contemporary performance (D.M.A.).
