Kaylynn Raper

Kaylynn Raper, trumpet, is currently pursuing a degree in Instrumental Music Education at UNW. Upon graduating as the Salutatorian of her class from Legacy Christian Academy, she received the John Philip Sousa Band Award and the Living in Light of Eternity Scholarship for demonstrating Christ-like character.

Kaylynn began piano lessons when she was six years old, and she began taking trumpet lessons at age ten. When she was twelve years old, she taught herself how to play the guitar. Throughout high school, Kaylynn's passion for music grew. She participated in band, choir, musical theatre, and was the leader of her high school worship team.

Now at Northwestern, Kaylynn is a member of the Symphonic Band and the Northwestern Choir. She studies trumpet under Dr. Phil Norris and voice under Professor Carol Eikum. She is excited for the opportunity to teach trumpet lessons for the Academy of Music, and it is her goal to make music a fun and positive experience for her students.
