Why did you want to become a professor?

Before college, the thought of becoming a professor had never crossed my mind, but as a student at Northwestern, I found myself in classes that stretched me intellectually and personally. I loved it! That was the first step I took towards wanting to be a professor. Today part of what drives me is that I want to share that same joy I find in ideas and critical thinking with others.

What brought you to Northwestern?

One of the things that I have appreciated most in reflection after graduating from Northwestern has been the support and guidance I received from the faculty here. While I love talking ideas in the classroom, the bigger reason I’m here is that I want to be able to give students support the way that I was supported.

What is your favorite part of being at Northwestern?

I love the care that community members here have for one another and how engaged people are in the life of the Northwestern community.
