Objectives
This summer the University of Northwestern is proud to offer a wonderful new opportunity for young musicians: a chamber camp for wind players. High school brass and woodwind players are invited to come together on UNW’s beautiful lakeside campus for five days of pursuing musical excellence through chamber music.
Chamber music (pieces written for small ensembles of 3-12 musicians) encourages students to collaborate with one another, to build musical sensitivity, and to take ownership of their individual parts. Anticipated chamber ensembles include brass quintet, woodwind quintet, piano quintet, as well as trios and more.
Chamber Wind Instruments
Winds: Flute, Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon
Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, French Horn
If there is enough interest, a piano and saxophone track may be added. Contact Dr. Jenna McBride-Harris at jlmcbrideharris@unwsp.edu for further information and interest.
