UNW Volleyball ends season with first-ever Final Four appearance

Thursday, November 17, 2016

It’s been a history-making week for UNW's Volleyball team.

The 18th-ranked University of Northwestern and 13th-ranked Eastern University battled hard during their five-set matchup with the UNW Eagles coming out victorious. UNW, making its debut at the Elite Eight, overcame a four-point deficit in the fifth set to defeat Eastern and advance to Friday's semifinal against Calvin College.

This history-making season included the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) naming Northwestern’s Lindsey Peterson Player of the Year. Coach Beth Wilmeth was also honored as Coach of the Year by the AVCA this Thursday.

UNW fell to No. 2 Calvin College in one of Friday's semifinal contests.

We are so proud of the UNW Volleyball team for striving to reflect Christ on and off the court.
