Northwestern Homecoming week provides numerous activities for students, including the infamous "Battle for the Cureton Cup" challenge.

Battle for the "Cureton Cup" Challenge

Calling all students from-Knutson, Hartill, KnuHa, Romo, Akenson and all Commuters- The challenge will begin Monday (9/16) of Homecoming week. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to rally your dorm mates for the competition of the year. Dorm vs. Dorm vs. Commuter, the winner will be the inaugural recipient of the Cureton Cup, bragging rights for the year, a cash prize from Student Government and a dorm pizza party from the Alumni Department. There will be four challenges throughout the week. Those participating will receive points for how they fall in the competition (1st-6th), and all students who come out to watch and cheer will get points toward their team total points. EVERY POINT MATTERS so don’t miss out on all the FUN!

Challenge #1:
Food Eating Challenge
- Monday 9/16-9:00 p.m.-10:00p.m.
Location: Student Center following Grocery Bingo

Challenge #2:
 Blind Nuke’em-Tuesday 9/17-7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Location: Sand volleyball court behind the Student Center

Challenge #3:
Northwestern Trivia
-Wednesday 9/18-7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Location: Student Center

Challenge #4:
Ultimate Dodgeball
-Thursday 9/19-8:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Location: Football Field

  • Music and games on Campus Green
  • Free access to paddleboards, kayaks, and lake access
  • Enjoy connecting with UNW alumni, students, and parents after the game for fellowship and community. (If weather is bad, all activities will be moved into the Billy Graham Commons.)
