Ann Sorenson served as Theater Director at Minnehaha Academy for 12 years before coming to University of Northwestern. She received her M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University. During her time in New York City, she received a New York Women in Film nomination and a Directing the Actors Fellowship from Columbia University.
Sorenson was casting director for the locally produced short film, "Good Morning" which was accepted into the International Minneapolis St. Paul film festival spring of 2008.
Currently she is in preproduction on "My First Funeral" and collaborating with a UNW Film grad on Falling for Fiction, a non-profit that empowers young people through the power of story and film. Sorenson is a founding member of Minnesota Women in Film and Television.
In addition to film, she enjoys cooking, reading, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
