Personal teaching philosophy

I love teaching students to be nurses, but most importantly to integrate their faith into their practice of nursing. I want students to really learn to care for all people and to give them a desire for life-long learning as there are continuous changes in healthcare.

Favorite verse or quote

Proverbs 3:5-6

Hobbies

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, shopping, and listening to praise music. I love traveling to Israel, Florida, and the cabin in Wisconsin.

Family

My husband, Derrick is a pastor. We have enjoyed serving in various churches and Israel. We currently have 2 smaller congregations and study the Bible, both OT and NT with a focus on Torah and Jewish context. Three children- Andrew, Peter (Mia), and Hannah are all young adults and we love spending time together.

Why do you love your discipline?

Nursing is a calling, it is a privilege to care for people when they are most vulnerable. We have an opportunity to help them as a whole person- physical, mental, cultural, and spiritual. This is why I love to teach these principles to the next generation. I want them to be used by God to serve in this same calling and to experience the joy it brings.
