Bryan Beck

Tenor, Bryan Beck is a 2016 graduate of The University of Northwestern – Saint Paul with dual degrees in Music and Psychology. Growing up in Eastern Europe to missionary parents, Bryan was exposed at an early age to great music and musicians in a cross cultural environment and has seen first-hand the universal language that music, and particularly singing, can be. While at Northwestern, Bryan studied with Carol Eikum and enjoyed a wide variety of musical performances, ranging from the NATS competition to soloing in Northwestern’s own Opera Workshop, and venturing out into the choral scene, singing not only with Northwestern’s own Northwestern Choir, but with various Chancel choirs, the Festival Choir for the Byzantine Choral Festival, Arthur’s Chorus (of which he was the founding conductor), and, more recently, continuing after university with both The Summer Singers and Two Rivers Chorale. When he is not singing or working, Bryan may be found engaging in a wide variety of hobbies, ranging from clock-making to boardgames, though teaching people how to sing well is by far one of his favorite activities. Bryan believes in helping his voice students uncover the voice they already have by teaching them grounded vocal technique and personal awareness to lead to vocal freedom and beauty of tone.
