At Northwestern she was a member of the Northwestern Choir, sat as concertmaster for the Northwestern Orchestra, and performed in Opera Workshop. She won the vocal category in the concerto-aria competition at Northwestern which allowed her the opportunity to sing with the Northwestern Orchestra. Emily studied violin with Roger Frisch and Emily Saathoff as well as voice with Carol Eikum at Northwestern. Emily started teaching violin and voice at the Academy of Music in 2016. She currently sings in the Minnesota Chorale, Two Rivers Chorale, and performs for various events throughout the Twin Cities.
