Jolene Konkel received her early dance training in Milwaukee and Chicago with the Milwaukee Ballet, Danceworks. Gus Giordano, Joel Hall, and Lou Conti. She holds an undergraduate degree in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Theatre from North Central University along with Dance from the University of Minnesota, and an M.F.A. in Performance and Choreography from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She has performed with Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Opera Company, Northwest Ballet, and for several jazz and modern dance companies in Milwaukee, Chicago, and the Twin Cities. Ms. Konkel is the founder of YWAM’s Global University of the Nations School of Dance Studies program where she and her family served as full time missionaries for five years training dancers and performing both at home and abroad. She has served as choreographer and adjunct faculty in the UNW Theatre program since 2009 and has choreographed over thirty local musical productions. Additionally, her work has been showcased in the Dance Makers series at UWM, Choreographer’s Evening at the Ritz Theater, Jazz Here, Jazz Now at the U of M, and Rhythmically Speaking at the Southern Theatre. Most recently she presented her work Life, Beautiful at the 2016 MN Fringe Festival.
