Kelly Gordon is a news junkie.

From an early age, she loved to write and report. After graduating from UNW in 1994, she found herself working overnights at a TV station in Phoenix. Another move found her editing several community newspapers for the beach communities in Southern California, including the launch of the La Jolla Village News. She eventually settled back into a broadcast newsroom, working for years as a newscast producer for the NBC-owned station in San Diego, NBC 7. During her tenure there, she was nominated for an Emmy for a newscast produced during the El Nino winter of 1998.

When she wanted to take a break from the intense hours of the newsroom, she did media relations for Point Loma Nazarene University, and after another move, taught media arts and broadcasting at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California. Even during her stint as a stay-at-home mom, she kept busy in the online space, finding a new home in social media marketing. She currently cohosts and does digital media management for the Sorta Awesome podcast.
