Student Instructor Violin

Mariya started her musical journey quite early, being involved in choir since she was 3. She started learning the violin at age 5 from Russian violin teacher Georgia Ishanidi. Several years later, Mariya was accepted to he Volgograd Children’s Music School 8 where she studied for 10 years focusing on violin, piano, chamber, musical history, and theory. During her time there, she participated in multiple festivals, competitions, and contests as a soloist and as a member of the school’s prestigious violin ensemble. Mariya has graduated from the school with high honors. 

After moving to the United States, she studied under Julie Willey and Connie Aiken while participating in the Great Twin Youth Symphonies. Mariya is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in violin performance under Emily Saathoff while actively participating in the Northwestern Orchestra and various chamber ensembles.
