Violin Instructor
Rachel Gee is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Master’s of Music in Violin Performance, and a graduate of the University of Northwestern-St. Paul with degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance. Rachel served as concertmaster for the University of Minnesota and Northwestern Orchestra, and won the instrumental category in the concerto-aria competition at Northwestern which allowed her the opportunity to solo with the orchestra. She began studying violin through the Academy of Music at Northwestern and is happy to back teaching there! She has taught violin for the past seven years and has studied with pedagogues Sally O’Reilly, Roger Frisch, Cheryl Stewart, and Emily Saathoff. She loves partnering with students and families to be a guide in their music education journey! As well as teaching violin and viola, she teaches with the Mounds View Summer Orchestra program, she will be teaching strings at a local high school this fall, and she teaches dance at a local studio. She also enjoys coordinating and performing for gigs in the Twin Cities and spending time outdoors with her husband.
