Andy Anderson threw his first ceramic teacup as a student at Northwestern in 1998. His affinity for ceramics took root there and became a life-long passion, as he continues to throw pots and teach ceramics to this day. He started Anderson Clayworks LLC in 2018, specializing in the making and selling of functional wheel-thrown ceramics and participates in various annual sales throughout the Twin Cities.

Andy completed his B.S. in Visual Art Education K-12 in 2002 and started his teaching career as an elementary art teacher in the Bloomington Public School District. It was at this time that Andy completed his MAED from St. Catherine University and after three years, Andy was called back to his high school alma mater, Lowry High School in Winnemucca, NV. Here he taught various high school art courses and served as art department chair and district leadership team member, while also teaching adjunct art courses for Great Basin College. He was named the district’s ‘Teacher of the Year’ in 2014 and served 11 years as the school district’s art show coordinator and high school art club advisor. In 2016 Andy returned to Minnesota to teach at Legacy Christian Academy in Andover, where he currently teaches high school art coursework and chairs the art department.
