A Year in Review

2024 Milestones
As January comes to a close, we look back with gratitude on the past year at Northwestern. Throughout 2024, our community has experienced the Lord’s unwavering grace and provision, embracing the call to live out and amplify the Gospel. We celebrate the ways students have grown in faith, deepened their calling, and carried out His love into their own homes, churches, and communities. As we move forward, we remain thankful for the opportunity to serve, learn, and share God’s truth—together.
UNWavering
In August, UNW made a bold statement with the launched of our new tagline, We Are UNWavering! From eye-catching billboards across the Twin Cities to campus-wide activities for our students, and a powerful UNWavering Grace chapel series, this message is more than just a tagline—it’s the declaration of who we are. It makes a statement to the culture and communities, affirming something that has always been true: UNW will hold fast in our commitment to Scripture, our dedication to developing future leaders, and our steadfast resolve to stand firm in Biblical truth, no matter the culture or the circumstance.

UNW’s Feature on Amazon Prime’s The College Tour
In September, we began the journey of filming our episode of The College Tour, an Amazon Prime TV series that showcases campus life through the eyes of current students and alumni. Over the course of production, we captured the achievements and experiences of 10 students and alumni from across campus. From our tight-knit community to our unwavering faith and mission, each story reflects what makes Northwestern truly special.
Now, as postproduction has wrapped up, we eagerly await the premiere! Mark your calendars—The College Tour Season 14, Episode 1, featuring UNW, launches on Amazon Prime on May 27, 2025!
Screech’s Mascot Makeover
This past summer, UNW alumna Natasha Nolette brought a fresh new look to our beloved mascot, Screech! Through a creative and detailed design process—including an eagle study, multiple sketches, and fine-tuning every detail—Natasha developed 16 dynamic Screech graphics that capture his spirit and energy. (After exploring different styles and perfecting each element digitally, her final designs now proudly represent UNW across campus and online. Keep an eye out—you’ll see Screech’s new look soaring everywhere!
Homecoming 2024
In October, we kicked of the month with Homecoming and Family weekend. The weekend was packed with chapel, celebrations, showcases, and sporting events – it was a major success! A couple new events were added to the schedule, and it was a big hit! Watch the full weekend recap here.
Northwestern Market was introduced and included 38 parent, alum, and student vendors selling everything from realty services to artwork. This event encompassed the heart of UNW’s community uniting past and present students. In addition, the Block Party was packed with fun including a petting zoo, food trucks, inflatables for kids, a coffee cart, and lots of connections for alums.
Between our two racing events – the Purple Donut Run and the Future Eagle Dash, over 700 people participated. Including over 600 runners took part in our second annual Purple Donut Run. There were over 100 future eagles dashing with Screech to the finish line during halftime of the football game. It was an awesome event for the next generation of Eagles!
And with, the 2024 season has come to an end! What a year of life-giving milestones, unforgettable moments, and a community drawn even closer as we fixed our eyes on Jesus. We look forward to what the Lord has in store for 2025!
