ST. PAUL – With gratitude to an anonymous donor, the University of Northwestern-St. Paul recently unveiled the Alan and Gayle Cureton Golf Training Center. The training center is one of several renovations made to the Ericksen Center throughout the summer months.
The training facility includes three training bays and Foresight Sports launch monitors, providing the same technology that is used by PGA professionals to Northwestern student-athletes and coaches. The Cureton Training Center also features the Dave Pelz GreenMaker™ putting green system, made with the highest quality synthetic bent grass, affording student-athletes the ability to practice their chipping and putting just steps away from the academic classroom.
The Curetons, Northwestern’s eighth president and spouse, have embraced their opportunities to interact and encourage students on campus, in chapel, and in their home over the past 20 years. Knowing the student-athlete experience firsthand from Alan’s time as a college football player, the Curetons have been overwhelmingly supportive of the Northwestern student-athlete experience, which includes academic and spiritual growth.
“The generosity of our donors makes Northwestern both affordable and attractive to students who desire to grow in their academic and spiritual growth,” said Dr. April Moreton, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “We are grateful to both this anonymous donor and Dr. and Mrs. Cureton for their commitment to the Northwestern student experience.”
