A study of the basic concepts of language and the history of English. Includes phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics and syntax.

Popular Literature
A study of genres such as fantasy, mystery, science fiction, adventure and other best-selling fiction. Particular focus of course to be published prior to registration.
ENG 2217
Writing of Fiction
A study of the techniques of fiction writing and contemporary fiction writers with an emphasis on creating original short stories in a workshop format.
ENG 2146
Professional Writing
A writing course that explores the principles and forms of professional writing. Special attention is given to workplace-based genres, clear & concise writing, and adaptation to developing contexts and industry needs. Students will explore writing in the workplace across various potential career paths and industries.
ENG 2216
Writing of Poetry
A study of prosody, the techniques of poetry writing and contemporary poets with an emphasis on creating original poetry in a workshop format.
