Worship Workshop

A day-long training for individuals and teams looking to grow in their knowledge, skill, and understanding about worship arts using the framework of the heart, head, and hands in worship.
UNW Worship Arts Collective students, worship team members from sister schools, and people from the community at large who have expressed interest in this area.
University of Northwestern – St. Paul, Nazareth Hall Great Room
Workshop Sessions
- Samantha Fischer: Heart = a Scripture based, theologically sound understanding of the heart of worship and the obstacle we face in the heart’s cultivation.
- Various Speakers: Head = best practices in channeling a heart of worship into effective leadership via tools of the trade (set planning, the role of an MD, and Nashville number system).
- Various Speakers: Hands = breakout sessions by instrument (drums, bass, EG, keys, AG, and vocals) with expert clinicians to help grow skill and perspective. Topics may include: gear, experience, approach to practice and performance.
Schedule
9:00-9:15am – Check-in
9:15-9:30am – Musical Worship led by WAC Team Leads
9:30am -12:00pm – Session #1: The Heart of Worship w/ Samantha Fischer
12:00-1pm – Lunch break and Group Discussion (on own offsite)
1:00-2:15pm – Large Group Session #2: The Head of Worship w/ Various Speakers
2:15-2:30pm – Break
2:30-3:30pm – Session #3: The Hands of Worship – Breakout Sessions by Instrument
3:30-4pm – Closing Session
