Employers consistently list leadership as a major need in the workplace. Northwestern’s Leadership Development Program supports our mission to equip students to grow intellectually and spiritually, to serve effectively in their professions, and to give God-honoring leadership in the home, church, community, and world.
Students are encouraged to serve in leadership positions both on-campus and off-campus.
To participate in the Leadership Program, students must:
How is the Leadership Development Program designed to fit my schedule?
The Leadership Development Program is designed to be completed within four consecutive semesters and can seamlessly be added to most student's academic schedules.
Can anyone participate in the Leadership Development Program? Do I need to apply to the program?
New traditional undergraduate students who can commit to completing the program in four consecutive semesters are eligible to participate in the Leadership Development Program.
The Leadership Development Program and scholarship award are open to all new incoming students, including transfers enrolling in the traditional undergraduate program. Applications for the Leadership Award, which includes the Leadership Development Program can be submitted each fall.
Do I have to be in a student-leadership role on campus to be in the Leadership Development Program?
No. Being a student leader on campus is not a prerequisite to being in the program. This experiential curriculum is designed for any student interested in learning more about leadership and/or growing as a leader.
